Line speeds update- message from Network Rail

Here is a message received from Murray Motley of Network Rail

Just to be clear, the only speed increase arising immediately from the blockade is that afforded by the lifting of the speed restriction over the repaired embankment on the down line at Ashford (Kingsnorth). The physical works here are complete and we’re doing our best to implement from this weekend.

However, we’ve also done a lot of preparatory work for the proposed future journey time scheme but this will not manifest itself until we’ve designed and carried out the other necessary infrastructure improvements. All this will be explained on Wednesday night in rather more detail!
